Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.

Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.
